At Millwork Development, we're serious about only collecting the minimum required information about our customers. You may have seen a pop up such as this in your AutoLauncher, asking you to share some information with us.
This will only pop up as long as your distributor has not disabled alalytics, and if you have not yet made a choice. Here's what we collect (if you allow it), and why:
Uid | Your Uid is a randomly generated piece of text we use to track your logs between sessions. This means if you launch the AutoLauncher twice, your Uid will match (unless you've reset it) and we will be able to update your entry, rather than create a new one. This is helpful to see how our customers use our products over time. Because this is randomly generated, there is no way for us to trace this information back to your computer. |
Application Name | The Application Name is simply which application you're using. For example, we can tell if you've launcher the AutoLauncher or the E-Catalog. |
Application Version | Similarly, this is used to tell which version of the application you're running. |
Distributor | This identifies which distributor the application was built for. This is useful for us to be able to tell how many people are working with a particular distributor. |
OS | This lets us know which operating system you're on. e.g. Windows. |
OS Build | This lets us know which version of your operating system you're on. For example, we can tell you're using Windows 8.1, Windows 7, or Windows 10 2004. This is important so we can tell how many people are using older versions of Windows. |
First Seen | This is a date stamp signifying the first time your Uid was logged. This way we can compare with Last Seen and tell how long you've used the same install of our product. |
Last Seen | Last Seen is a timestamp that's automatically updated when a new log is sent. This is important so we can clear old data which hasn't been updated in a while, letting us know the data may be out of date. |
Opting Out
In order to opt out of our analytics, simply click the relative button "Do not send analytics". This will also make a request to our servers to delete any existing information under your Uid, and prevent further logging.
In the AutoLauncher, analytics settings are accessed by clicking "Analytics" in the same spot where you change your username and password.
