The Startup Manager component is an extension of chat which allows users to customize messages automatically shown to E-Catalog users when they log into the E-Catalog.
Example of a startup message in the E-Catalog
Upon launching the Startup Manager, you'll see a table with any startup messages already configured for your distributor. Here you can see a brief overview of each message, or manipulate messages.
Here is what each field means in the context of a startup message:
Group | The group field specifies which users of the E-Catalog the message is sent to. This is useful in the case where you only want to show a message to users of a particular branch. |
Priority | This affects how the message is shown to users of the E-Catalog. The higher the priority, the more in-your-face the message will be. |
Message | This is the actual content of the message. |
Start Date | The message will only be sent if it is after 12 AM on this date. |
End Date | The message will only be sent if it is before 11:59 PM on this date. |
From | This specifies who the message is from. This will be appended to the beginning of the message. |
Type | This specifies which type of E-Catalogs the message will be shown on. Options are "All", "Online", and "Desktop". |
Max Views | This specifies how many times a user will be shown a message before it stops being sent to them. For example, if Max Views is set to 5, the user will not be shown the message on the 6th launch of the E-Catalog. |
