Users of the E-Catalog are able to change the default location to save projects and files. This is useful for organizations who have specific filesystem needs, or simply if you'd like to save things to something besides the C: drive.
To access the data path settings, please follow these steps from the E-Catalog:
- Click the Utilities button from the top bar of the E-Catalog.
- Click Settings from the top of the resulting drop down menu.
- Click Map Data Path... from the middle right section of settings.
In the resulting window, you are able to change the various paths that the E-Catalog uses. Here's what the various paths mean:
NOTE: The locations available to save to may differ depending on which version of the E-Catalog you're using (Desktop, AutoRDP, Online).
NOTE: Changing any of these from the Server Drive will prevent users from accessing their files on any computer besides their own. For this reason, this is not recommend when using the online version.
Data Path | The data path is the location where the E-Catalog will save most of its settings, which includes user data, company data, and multipliers. We recommend not changing this after it has been set unless under the recommendation of Millwork Development support. The selected directory must contain a "Data" folder, and the "Data" folder must contain your "GroupInfo.mdt" file. |
Project Files Default Directory | The project files default directory is where new projects will be saved, as well as where the E-Catalog will look when attempting to open an existing project. The selected directory must contain a "Projects" folder. This can safely be moved, but existing projects must be moved manually. |
PDF File Default Directory | The PDF file default directory is the location the E-Catalog will use to save PDFs. This includes saving PDFs when using the email function of the E-Catalog. |
